The Challenge
Exemplis Corp, manufacturer of SitOnIt Seating and other contract furniture brands, needed better visibility into true costs across ordering, manufacturing, and shipping. Finance was consolidating data manually — up to a week per cycle, error-prone — making effective supplier and carrier negotiations difficult.
What We Built
A mentoring-led business intelligence engagement — designing and building a data mart, ETL development using SQL Server Integration Services, and cube and report development — while simultaneously building internal team capability for ongoing maintenance.
The Outcome
Reporting time dramatically reduced, finance gained accurate cost visibility across the full order-to-ship process, and Exemplis began exploring additional BI applications across the business.
